“He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
Regarding life as walking on a bridge heading for its other end laid in a dense fog, I’ve learned to equip myself with the means I need to locate my pathway.
Abraham Maslow, Clayton Alderfer, Manfred Max-Neef, Frederick Herzberg, and many others who spent years on research to better understand and describe human needs to efficiently progress in the self-development path, unveils that they have been actually trying to cast a vivid light on the misty trail of “future”. Recognizing the “success in life” can be the result of meeting our “fundamental needs”, as Max-Neef defines it as a system, I had the chance to figure out the right trail of my life and distilled what I learned to a simple four-step strategy that worked pretty well for me.
1. Self-Discovery: I was born and grown up in a small family that was built on an unconditional “love” basis. It provided me with almost all fundamentals I needed to focus on discovering myself; to figure out my hopes, interests, dreams, and potential; to find out who I am, what I want to achieve and the person I want to become. I was in my very early childhood when I discovered that I am in love with the world of computers and whatever comes close to this fascinating technology.
2. Self-Development: Fortunately, my life is enriched with opportunities for discovering and learning new things, considering we had to live in different countries due to my father’s work. Hence, I was much closer to the sources I needed to enhance my knowledge and skills. Receiving my honors degree in Information Technology from the Middlesex University of UK, sharpened my vision to further focus on the aptitude I had pinpointed as my target.
Profoundly believing the physical and psychological well-being is intertwined with any other self–development approaches as far as the life achievements are concerned, I began attending my health and entered into a condensed plan of action. As a result of my hard bodybuilding exercise plan, I gained 27 kg (59.52 lb) and turned a skinny figure into a full-featured athlete shape using none of the so-called bodybuilding boosters. My eagerness to play sports further drove me to learn martial arts (Manchurian Kungfu with specific expertise in Nunchaku) that remarkably strengthened my self-confidence.
3. Self-Mastery: I firmly believe one can’t masterize his/her knowledge and capacities without putting them to the test. Working in the two high-tech companies of Marigold Group in the UAE and France as IT Department Manager, provided me with the ability to recognize, control, and make most out of my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self. Under my management, the companies saved a lot, and their profits incredibly boosted. They were priceless opportunities where I better realized my abilities in leading other professionals in a team, improved my performance and enhanced my skills and competencies.
In a totally different arena, I proudly assisted one of my university professors at Middlesex University, who has always been a great source of inspiration and support in my professional life, toward authoring the fabulous books –An Officer of the Crown, Volume I to IV– which is one of the most delightful activities I have ever attended.
4. Self-Actualizations: I believe, whenever I don’t feel the hunger for achieving my full potential in myself, I might not be on the right track heading for self-actualization. Materializing our full potential is a vital need of the human species. When I felt a huge emotional vacuum in my life, I realized that it could only be filled with an angel that not only could she pave the gap and empower me with another magic of an Unconditional Love, but such a like-minded partner could support me throughout my actualization route. I married an angel, and our growth path got incredibly boosted. Pursuing the same growth trail, I started a master’s program in Electronic Business Technology at Ottawa University in Canada. When I am writing this biography, I have successfully concluded my master’s degree program and feel much happier, more fulfilled, and by all means eager to challenge much bigger assignments.
